MORE ABOUT ME

AS A VENUE PROGRAMMER ONCE DEMANDED:
“GIVE ME THE PARAGRAPH!”

MORE ABOUT ME

From an immersive dining experience that took audiences to the Moon and back, to a paranormal investigation that proved we make our own ghosts. From a peep into the secret lives of Older People, to a musical version of Kafka’s Metamorphosis co-produced with 100 primary schoolchildren.

I’m interested in crafting narrative-driven interdisciplinary work that often smudges the line between fact and fiction, inviting audiences to scupper their expectations about themselves and the world around them.

My work has toured nationally and internationally, but much has been lovingly made locally, co-designed with intergenerational participants and with communities through Little Earthquake, the arts organisation I run with writer Philip Holyman.

One of the best parts of my job is helping others to thrive in the cultural sector, and supporting the next generation of artists to make work that is uniquely their own.

I write Eat The Elephant, a blog and newsletter about the creative processes behind getting stuff made, and the joy, dignity and purpose that comes through making.

My sector support work spans venue and festival programming, conference curation, consultation, facilitation and cultural leadership coaching. I love helping others claim their place in the sector, build lasting resilience and make meaningful change.

I’ve founded and spearheaded a wide range of artist development schemes and mentoring initiatives. I’ve designed courses and directed productions at drama schools and universities. I also offer a whole host of workshops for makers, performers, writers, directors and facilitators.
